Certified Travel Industry Executive, or CTIE, designation from The Travel Institute, the travel industry’s benchmark for educational excellence and the only travel organization offering certification for travel professionals’ varying levels of expertise.
The Certified Travel Industry Executive, CTIE®, designation is awarded by The Travel Institute to travel professionals who complete a rigorous training program, including closed-book, proctor-administered testing, to demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and experience and the highest standards of travel professionalism. In addition, CTIEs are required to fulfill stringent continuing education requirements each year.
The CTIE course focuses on the critical skills that today’s leaders need to succeed, including emotional intelligence, teambuilding, negotiating, and coping with change.
The CTC curriculum covers a number of skill areas that prepare the candidate for leadership roles in the industry – focusing on courses that develop business, professional, and managerial skills. The program is also designed to allow each candidate to tailor the program to meet his or her specific needs or career aspirations/specializations.
The CTA curriculum focuses on the essential skills needed to succeed as a frontline travel counselor – selling, customer service, destinations, niche markets and communication. The CTA is also the first step in earning the coveted Certified Travel Counselor designation.
